Natuna field : ウィキペディア英語版
East Natuna gas field

The Natuna gas field is a large natural gas field located in the South China Sea. It is within the disagreed area claimed by China as part of Chinese territory.
The field was discovered in 1970 and developed by the Indonesian state-owned oil company Pertamina. It began production in 1996 and produces natural gas and condensates. The total proven reserves of the Natuna gas field are around 222 trillion cubic feet (6.3 trillion cubic meters), and production is forecast to be around 1.98 billion cubic feet/day (56 million cubic meteres/day).
Expanded development of the field has been delayed a number of times because the Indonesian government has postponed approval of a principle of agreement (PoA) signed by the consortium of firms planning to develop the field. The consortium consists (mid 2013) of four major firms: Pertamina, ExxonMobil, Total S.A., and Thailand's PTT Exploration and Production. The next step in the development of the field will be for the Indonesian government to award a production-sharing contract (PSC).〔Ahmal S. Azwar, '(Govt to award PSC to East Natuna contractors' ), ''The Jakarta Post'', 13 August 2013.〕
A 1980, 50-50 venture in Natuna D-Alpha area, East Natuna, between Pertamina (Indonesia's state-owned petroleum company) and Exxon Mobil Corp of the US, didn't result in production. The 71% CO2 content made gas extraction from the huge 1.3-trillion-cubic-metre area expensive, and development difficult.〔http://www.offshore-technology.com/projects/natuna/〕
